Tech newsletters I subscribe to

This post was inspired by an internal post at Automattic that someone posted. So I’ve decided to post my own on here of the newsletters I currently subscribe to, in no particular order.

Console

Weekly newsletter to receive information about new and existing developer tooling.

Console’s mission is to help developers do their best work. Whether reviewing the best tools in our devtools newsletter, interviewing technical experts on our podcast or investing in early-stage developer-first startups, Console has grown to be a trusted, independent resource for experienced developers.

    Syntax Snack Pack

This is similar to Console in the sense that it informs me about tooling, products and other cool developer-centric things on the web.

New Syntax content, tips & tricks, swag drops, and other sweet stuff to make your life as a web developer even better.

    Frontend Focus

A weekly newsletter about all things frontend that are happening in the industry. From browsers, to fonts and CSS to JavaScript and more.

A once–weekly roundup of the best front-end news, articles and tutorials. HTML, CSS, WebGL, Canvas, browser tech, and more.

    React Status

A weekly newsletter of all things React-centric. Keeping up to date on React is not only benefiting me because the industry kind of demands it but it’s heavily used at Automattic in a lot of our products including WordPress and Gutenberg.

A weekly roundup of the latest React and React Native links and tutorials.

    JavaScript Weekly

I think this one speaks for itself. This is a weekly newsletter of all things JavaScript.

    Ness Labs

Probably my favourite newsletter to read, probably because the focus is not on software development but more about mindfulness and productivity, I genuinely look forward to reading these. They’re well written, backed by and reference studies and are really informative. I encourage anyone to subscribe.

    PHP Annotated Monthly

I love Jetbrains products (PHPStorm <3) and this newsletter helps me keep on top of PHP news and updates. I work on a product, and in an ecosystem that heavily relies upon PHP so this is a great source of information for myself who doesn’t have as strong a PHP background since my career has mostly been JavaScript

    Within WordPress

Obviously I work within Automattic so a lot of my daily life is spent keeping up to date with WordPress happenings, so this is the only WordPress-specific newsletter I currently subscribe to. It’s really informative and well put together from a prominent figure in the WordPress space.
